Looks like your drivetrain gearbox is hitting your drivetrain frame. CAD mistake?

*obligatory warning about 3 CIM drivetrains*

More lazy CAD than mistake. All the rails have been trimed IRL. Not worth the effort to update the CAD. We actually running two CIM and 1 mini. We'll see how it goes and drop the mini if needed.

Re: pic: Bottom View 1188 2016 Bot

Are the gearboxes actually going to be mounted there? I recall testing an old drivetrain model using 8in pneumatic wheels and WCP DS gearbox. I placed it on the ramparts, and it seemed like the gearboxes are going to hit the ramparts.

So if you guys are really mounting the gearboxes there, then expect some damages. Is it possible to mount more high up, and chain downwards?

Omins are to smooth out rolling up and down ramps. They may or may not make it to the final competition bot.

The gearboxes are really that low. For most of the defenses that should be fine. I was actually more worried about the rough terrain. I didn't think the ramparts would catch. We'll check. Maybe add a ABS skid plate.

I'm assuming the two small protrusions are for the Portcullis? Wouldn't it hit the top intake roller as you you went under?

Re: pic: Bottom View 1188 2016 Bot

The protrusions are for the Portcullis. Our hope is that we're actually able to lift the Portcullis by running the intake in reverse with some traction material on the outside edges. The concern is that there is a dramatic difference between our plywood Portcullis and the real field elements. With no way to test we need a plan B.
