Rules regarding working on a bot during a regional

Tried looking this up in The Manual, but couldn't find an explicit reference to these questions:
  1. During a regional (while the pits are open), are you allowed to travel to your workshop to manufacture parts?
  2. During a regional (while the pits are closed), are you allowed to travel to your workshop to manufacture parts?

I seem to remember that the annswer to these questions being a resounding no, but couldn't find an explicit reference to them in the rules this year.

Am I missing something?

Yep, you're missing something. R16-C, note blue box. That'll shut down #2. R18 will pick off #1.

And T17 shuts down both of those as well.

That's why you should, if you have the space and tools, bring a small drill press, band saw, and variety of powered hand tools to competition.

We bring a bench setup with a mini mill and mini lathe. The mill serves as a drill press as well, and very few other teams have the lathe capabilities. It runs all weekend long, usually, as teams come to use it (which is to say, we'll have someone on our team make the parts to spec for them, because we can't verify their safety training on the machines).

As a trade-off, if necessary we're usually bugging other teams for use of their band saw (as we have a portaband, but don't really have the space for a standard band saw.)
