Scouting At Competitions
This is our first year in the FRC competition, and we had some questions about scouting.
The areas at competition have a no wifi rule, so what is allowed connection-wise? What apps have worked well in the past? Our coach recommended Tableau, and we were wondering if there were any others that work as well? Thank you for your time! |

Re: Scouting At Competitions
bluetooth is ok, as is cellphone based internet connections. so you can have a few devices talk to each other in short range before uploading to the internet via cell signal. Then you can have an app for phones that pulls the data. See also http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...hreadid=143047

QR codes also work really well for data transfer. SuperScouter has QR code support built in to it.

Re: Scouting At Competitions
Tableau is good for visualizing data and I've liked it, but it's only for organizing data, not collecting it. To use Tableau you need something like Excel or Google Sheets so you can input a spreadsheet!
