Heat transfer Vinyl for Bumpers
I am curious has anyone ever used heat transfer vinyl for the bumper numbers and how did it work? We have a roland GX 24 and would like to cut them out and apply them ourselves rather than paint them on. How do they wear? and where can you get it?
Thanks |

Re: Heat transfer Vinyl for Bumpers
Works great, we do it every year. Local sign shops or graphics/custom shirt shops could set you up, or coastalbusiness.com is where I send my PO's for classroom purchases. I'd look at Siser easyweed. You probably need a yard of it, but getting five yards let's you make t-shirt customizations as well.

Re: Heat transfer Vinyl for Bumpers
We've used Siser Easyweed cut on a Silhouette for several years now with very good results. You will need to mirror the image prior to cutting. We use the same cutting settings that are preset for paper-backed vinyl in our software. You will need a heat press to apply them as it takes both heat (305 degrees) and pressure to make it adhere properly. Dwell time in the press is about 15-20 seconds, but on duck cloth, we sometimes go a little longer. If you don't have a heat press, try asking at the high school or local t-shirt decorating businesses -they may let you use theirs.
We buy our Siser Easyweed from www.specialty-graphics.com. |
