Question about battery orientation

My team is wondering if there are any problems with laying the battery on its side. Our team as seen numerous teams do it before we just want to double check there are no problems with the rules.

As long as the main breaker is accessible you can mount it any way.

I hope to see a battery mounted at an angle such that all sides are 30 deg to the base of the robot...

May be mounted for discharge in any orientation.
large area side down has added advantage of lower CG
+ less likely to dislodge during competition.

**Be Advised However, to charge it in the normal erect position to allow internal safety devices to properly function.
