Unhappy Set Lifecam 3000 HD Settings through C++

We're using a Lifecam 3000 HD, and when it firsts loads, it looks very very good for about half a second. After that, what I am assuming is auto-exposure or some other 'auto setting' on the camera kicks in and the picture becomes so bright that we can only see anything if we turn all the lights off.

How can I change those settings through the code?
