Re: pic: Cyber Blue 2016
Introducing our 2016 Competition and Prototype robots. "Yet to Be Named" on the left, and "Proto" on the right.
More details will follow, including an intro / capabilities video. |

The competition robot was named "Treadpool" by a popular vote made by the students (we even made "Treadpool" buttons).

Re: pic: Cyber Blue 2016
These look solidly built, just as I'd expect.
I'm curious if you guys have had any issues with ball damage from the HiGrip wheels? I know a local team has been struggling with that and as a result has switched to stealth wheels. I look forward to seeing you guys at our second event. Good luck in NC. |

Any plans for an intake?

Re: pic: Cyber Blue 2016
Our shooter is our intake the same wheels that spin the ball out also suck the ball in. The arm is on a pivot so it can be leaned up and down. The ball once sucked in rests on a pneumatic, and we flip the pneumatic when the ball needs to be shot. Make sense?

Yup, makes sense. How have your drivers done with lining up to intake balls? I've seen lots of teams struggle with similar intakes.

Re: pic: Cyber Blue 2016
Well we only have a half field so the drivers aren't seeing that far. From what I've seen, it hasn't been much of an issue yet on our half field. Basically, the boulder has to only hit 1 wheel to be sucked in so we don't have to be perfect but we still have to be somewhat close. It will definitely be interesting on the full field. But odds are, most of the boulders will be picked up in the neutral zone and that's half of the field.
