Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?

Our robot was at the official Week Zero event and didn't need one to stay on the batter however that wasn't the case for every robot. If you really want to end the match parked on the Batter, start planning something to hold you there now if you don't have the ability to test your robot on a lexan incline between now and your event. |

Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?
Speed controller setting is also important. I'll be checking with every team I encounter that their speed controllers are set to brake mode.

We are also royally underweight, so that is probably helping as well. |

Fair heads up, CAN bus teams can dynamically switch that really easily. It's actually pretty nice.

Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?
If you have a heavy end of your robot, park that against the lip. Our robot is pretty heavy on the back when the shooter is up, and stays parked. Low gear and brake mode on the talons helps so if you roll into the lip it is slow.

Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?
We have two fingers that go down and stop us at the end of the match from rolling off the batter.

Well both. I think our max at Suffield was 11 with a capture. During a normal match we can do 8. While crossing the B and D defenses. Although we can also do the Cheval DE Frise and Drawbridge solo we can not do it while scoring 8 boulders

Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?
"A ROBOT has CHALLENGED the TOWER if, at the conclusion of the MATCH, the ROBOT is fully supported by the TOWER, but hasn’t met the criteria for SCALING the TOWER."
To make sure i understand this correctly, this means that the robot cannot touch the courtyard carpet, it has to be positioned fully on the batter ? |

Re: Have you tried parking on the Batter?
There were 6 balls on the midfield at Suffield, three at the human player station, and three in all of the robots in your alliance. In order to score 11 balls in a match, you would need to have obtained every ball your alliance could have possibly controlled except for one. Since balls weren't returned to human players, this is a bit suspect. I had to leave Suffield early since 228 had some problems to fix, so I didn't watch all your matches, but this is a tall order even in a 5 minute match. Did they start returning balls by the end of the day or something?

I'm going to call a "video or it didn't happen" on this. Please prove me wrong.
