Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2016 Video
Is that grappling hook legal? I thought I remembered something last year about grappling hook can-burglars not being allowed.
Is this safe??? Projectile robot components? My team decided against it only because we didn't want to run into Robot Inspectors that wouldn't let us play due to safety concerns. Everyone we talked to said it wouldn't pass. Kinda miffed if we coulda gone with it all along. |

It does not state anywhere in the rules that you can't have a projectile. |

Woah guys. Way to go. I had a notification pop up when it was released and I had a beautiful surprise after school, so thank you!
Another amazing lo-bar robot that combines speed with accurate shooting. Also, the most creative solution to hanging I've seen (and I've seen A LOT). I will be paying attention to how this robot does, but I think we have yet another top tier robot from a top tier team. 1114 and 254, the time is now... |

Sick of that guy. First it's his cabin, now he's playing defense for 118? He's definitely "Rise and grind guy".

Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2016 Video
Also, doesn't their climb system violate the bumper rules?
Edit: not the actual climb system, but it appears their bumpers are no longer in the bumper zone while climbing. Last edited by Michael Hill : 25-02-2016 at 17:04. |

Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2016 Video
By that logic going over the rock wall would make many robots illegal. Actually, all climbs would be illegal. Their bumpers are not rising compared to the bottom of their wheels.

between two virtual horizontal planes, 4 in. above the floor and 12 in. above the floor, in reference to the ROBOT standing normally on a flat floor. BUMPERS do not have to be parallel to the floor. |

Only question I have is the projectile nature of it. |

Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2016 Video
Wasn't the bumper restriction what made at least one of the Ri3D robots illegal?
