We don't like to talk about 2013.

Alright I might have overestimated a little but it's pretty close...right? Maybe one day.

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
I would say that 3996 should be fifth. Even though 3996 had a VERY strong year in 2015, they're 2014, 2013 and 2012 seasons weren't quite as strong. I just saw they're (3996) reveal for this season and I am certain that the are headed for another great season!

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
In SamcFuchs defense, that list seems to be based on 2015 alone. We were far from top 5 last year.

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
To be as un-biased as possible, I went with exact rankings and winner/finalists over 2015 and 2014. (As some teams were great a long time ago and have since lost decent funding, among other things.)
Anyway, here's my list for Alabama: 1. 3959 - 4 (2015) 2. 4092 - 7 (2014; not competing in 2016) 3. 34 - 9 (2015) 4. 3139 - 10 (2015; not competing in 2016) 5. 538 - 11 (2015) The number to the right is their top rank over 2014-2015 and the number in parenthesis is when they achieved that rank. (to back up the ranking of my team, we're the only team from Alabama to make it to the championship in a few years) And, now, here's my personal list based entirely on favouritism: 1. 3959 2. 34 3. 442 4. 538 5. 5858 (for good measure; they're rookies and I feel like they're really going somewhere in the coming years!) |

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
For the teams that are now in the newly-formed Chesapeake District, I'd probably give the following rankings:
1. 2363 Triple Helix (Virginia): 2 regional wins in 2015; 1 regional win and 1 semifinalist in 2014 (also World Champs, but they aren't on record as playing any matches in the eliminations); 1 finalist in 2013 2. 1629 Garrett Coalition (Maryland): 1 win and 1 quarterfinalist in 2015; 1 win and 1 quarterfinalist in 2014 (though they probably would've done better if we hadn't picked them); 1 finalist in 2013 3. 836 The RoboBees (Maryland): 1 regional finalist, and quarterfinalist at Archimedes in 2015; 1 regional win, 1 regional finalist, and quarterfinalist at Galileo in 2014; 1 finalist in 2013 4. 384 Sparky (Virginia): 1 regional win and Galileo finalists in 2015; 1 regional win in 2014. That's all more impressive considering they've only gone to one regional. |

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
i put 3996 3rd because of their 2016 robot, and mostly because they were the first Qc team to make it to Einstein, let alone semi finals

That's depressing. They were the paragon of MCC and what you can achieve with it.

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
I know I'm late, but I figured I'd add my own list of California teams to the existing ones. Counting only current teams and going by robot record (regional and champs):
California: 1. 254 (1 champs win, 1 division win, 1 division finalist, 8 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 2. 1678 (1 champs win, 1 champs finalist, 3 division wins, 7 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 3. 330 (1 division win, 1 division finalist, 4 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 4. 973 (1 division win, 2 regional wins, 3 regional finalists) 5. 3476 (2 division wins, 1 regional win, 4 regional finalists) Norcal only: 1. 254 (1 champs win, 1 division win, 1 division finalist, 8 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 2. 1678 (1 champs win, 1 champs finalist, 3 division wins, 7 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 4. 973* (1 division win, 2 regional wins, 3 regional finalists) 4. 971 (1 division finalist, 4 regional wins, 1 regional finalist) 5. 1671/1323/701 (1 champs win, 1 division win, 2 regional finalists; 1 division finalist, 1 regional win, 2 regional finalists; 2 regional wins, 3 regional finalists) *Still not sure if 973 is considered a norcal or socal team Note: Data includes 2012 to 2015 seasons only. Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
I think the premise of the thread was to only consider the past 4 years, which would exclude 2011.

Re: Top 5 teams for your state over the last 4 years
California's a bit stacked, but I'm semi-confident in saying in no particular order,
254 1678 1538 399 330 973 |
