Swamp thing a swamp ramp? :)

If you were at the UCF Regional(And most others, i imagine) you would have seen how several robots didn't work exactly as was originally planned. Funnest example I saw of this was us and Swamp thing in match 72 of the qual. rounds.

Just click fl_072 in the left bar!

Swamp Thing had a pretty cool bot though, btw, are you guys sister teams? For some reason I always thought of you guys as that way. I love how you guys seem to always build a "tank".

Yes, for those of you who don't know 179 and 180 are sister teams (trust me, I know this all too well). That's becuase ORIGINALLY the majority of our adult mentors worked at Pratt & Whitney down in Palm Beach. Those in Palm Beach County started 179 and in Martin County they started 180. And at the moment the only two UTC-P&W Florida teams too.

Oh and S.P.A.M., we've always used treads...well except for the bot we never talk about from the team rookie year. Its like a trademark/what's expected from us. Being on the team for my fourth year, its like the one thing we do right. Build on heck of a drivetrain that gives us power, speed, and manuverability (that's what boogie wheels are for, especially with treads!!! -> hint).

Yes, we love S.P.A.M. and are joined at the hip.

Heh, can you imagine our teams getting together to build a robot? What would you call it?

SwampSPAM
just "S" (Superman logo favorite of 180)
Children of SPAM (Children of Dune)
Fluffy, the Swamp Creature

Any other suggestions?

What would the product of our robots look like?

A 10-foot wide tank-treadin' (blue, green and red) bulldozer with an evil grin and one heck of an attitude...!

What about S^2 (s squared)?
Actually it would be fun to do that. True, we're only 45min to an 1 hour apart but not many want to spend a lot of time driving, especially when its late at night. What would be fun is if we build two robots that are identical so there would be twice the fun....not to mention terror.

P.S.- the official name of S.P.A.M.'s 2003 robot is Twitch.
