IDs for Boarding Plane

Hey I just wanted to know what you guys are bringing for ID's just in case they ask for one when you try to board your flights.

I am taking a Non-Driver State Issued ID with me and a copy of my Birth Cft.

If they "Terror warning" goes up another notch the airlines are sure to step-up security.

I'll have my driver's license. I don't know if I'm bringing a copy of my birth certificate or not... do you think I should?

I wouldn't think a birth certificate is necessary if you have a government issued ID

In MN (I assume the same other places too), a school-issued ID is acceptable for anyone under 18. For those 18 and over, it has to be some form of government-issued ID, whether it be a driver's liscence or something else. A passport is overkill but would do in a pinch, whereas a birth certificate is nearly worthless (I would guess) as it doesn't have your picture on it.

That was kinda what I was thinking. It's not a very good piece of ID... though I suppose in combination with a driver's licence or something, it could be. That way, you have picture ID and proof of citizenship.

In my expierience, if you're under 18 (sometimes 16), you don't need an ID... you just need to show that you're traveling with someone who does.

Even if you take your school ID and show it to them, well I've never had them put up a fuss about it. When you're going to have 20 kids all boarding at the same time with teachers, they're not going to bother all that much.

Long story short: use a driver's permit or license. If you don't have one, you're probably too young for them to really care. If you want to be certain, take your school ID - I've never really had a problem with this.

a passport is definite overkill if you already have a permit/drivers license/ non-driver state ID. I've flown from NY to VA without any problems several times with just a drivers license recently. If you dont have one of those then a passport is probably your best bet, even if you are under 16, just incase. School IDs are not concidered legal ID anywhere except at the school that issued it. Of course, if you dont have either of those then bring anything you can to ID yourself with. A school ID paired with birth certificat/social security card should be fine, although with that many people together (assuming you have a good portio of your team going) it shouldnt be a big deal.

they like a drivers licence, though a student-id will do if you're under 18.

theoretically if you're under 18 they're not supposed to check for an ID, but if you look sufficiently old they'll ask you for one anyway.

Yeah, you should definately bring 2 government issued ID's with you. Your School ID does count as a government issued ID, so bring that with. Then bring either you drivers liscense, state ID, passport, or birth certificate.
