Re: Dukes of Stronghold GIF Contest: Discussion Thread

Ok so... ...I am getting some push back on my anal retentive rules on naming and also the "upload it to chiefdelphi.com message thread" rules.

I have to agree that CD is pretty clunky for this. I am especially sad that you once you've uploaded an attached gif, CD won't animate the gif in a message. That kinda stinks no?

SO...

I think I am going to relax the rules. Name the file whatever you want. BUT... your post has to include the competition and match number and robot numbers.

Second, I think we can eliminate the "must be attached to a post" rule.

But... I have 2 questions that I would like to folks to comment on.

#1: where should folks upload them? Imgur is a natural choice I suppose but any other suggestions. A lot of firewalls get a bit persnickety about Imgur.

#2: Should I have a file size limit and if so, what should it be? I didn't want folks to be uploading 1G files, I wanted them to load reasonably fast. What should we do here?

Thanks for the input.

Dr. Joe J.
