We had them in Israel, the flags dropped on a successful capture but they were reset manually.

Re: Tower Flag drops when weekend
We had the assembly's at Pittsburgh this weekend. As soon as the tower was weekend the flag droped. However the flag that was supposed to raise when the tower was captured never actually rose, at least in the matches I saw. It looked like it was trying to raise but never actually did so.

Re: Tower Flag drops when weekend
The flag assemblies were up and working at PNW Wilsonville, I was involved in getting them setup and tested on the field. The alliance flag will drop as soon as the tower is weakened in match. The capturing alliance flag will not raise until final scores are announced post-match, as it relies on getting committed ref scoring for challenge and scale of each robot.
The lowering flag worked without a hitch. The raising flag took some adjustment to get it so the latch solenoid could overcome the spring force. Once setup, it worked flawlessly all weekend. It is a great game detail getting to see the flags raise and lower on the tops of the castles. |

Re: Tower Flag drops when weekend
Peachtree Columbus District Qualifier had them on and working, and they did drop once during a qualifier.
I will tell you, they make a extremely satisfying sound when they activate. A nice Ker-Chuck with along with a great electrical BZZZZZZ sound. I don't think you could hear it during a completion, but during the field tests, its awesome! Also we found that they are very sensitive to flag position, We initially thought the ones we got were not functional until we got the flag facing the right way on the rod. |
