Rookie award to Championship

Hi, my name is Troi Dixon from Rookie team 5919 based in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Our strategy team was wondering how many points qualify you to go to the District Championship? We won the Rookie All Star Award, but we don't know if we qualified to compete.

Thank you,
Strategy Team

Re: Rookie award to Championship

It depends on the district and the points you get and what you get at your events. For the PNW you need to be in the top 64 teams to get to DCMP, and then the top 21 teams after that go to CMP. There should be some documentation explaining what you need (position-wise or award-wise) to get to CMP.

That depends on your region's DCMP capacity and how well the teams in your district do during the district events. Since you are from North Carolina, the teams with the 32 highest district point scores will compete at the District Championship. Rookie All-star helps this cause, by giving your team 8 points towards this goal, but it only assures that you will be allowed to compete for the DCMP Rookie All-Star. It does not necessarily mean you will be allowed to compete with your robot.

See the Admin Manual, section 7.4, for more details.

First check this page here to see how many District Points you have, and then compare that to all the teams who attended the Guilford competition here. Like those above me have said, there isn't a set number that you need to attain, but the top 32 teams will be going to the NC Championship. Keep in mind that the numbers on that site above do not list the aggregate District point (you need to add the points team A got from Guilford to the points they got at Wake), and keep in mind the points you will earn at your next competition.

Basically, there is no way to know for certain right now. After the Ashville competition this weekend, you can probably get a better feel for where you will end up.
