Information on camera mointing
Our team (team 5414) has a low bar robot and are curious as to the rules of having a camera above the operating station. We know it can be no taller than 11' 8" above the floor, but we don't know how to go about mounting it. Would we have someone hold it? Would we have it mounted through the standard holder? Any and all information is appreciated. :-)

Re: Information on camera mointing
The Q&A deemed adding it to the standard illegal so that is not an option

Re: Information on camera mointing
Hi BigBoyJacob,
A number of teams have successfully and safely fastened their camera's onto a pole witch was then connected to the alliance station wall. There are a number of ways to go about doing this. The most popular and easiest way that I saw was to place a piece of 2x4 wood onto the alliance station shelf which was then clamped to the shelf. This piece of wood was connected to the pole through a variety of methods (use whatever suits you best, trialing this setup on a table at your school should help!). Additionally, your pole should have a base that provides balance and allows for stability during the setup process. Whatever you do, make sure that it is tight! Re: Information on camera mointing
I'm pretty sure I know the answer but would it be illegal to have a tripod with a pole attached to it sitting on the ground right next to the drivers station? I believe it would be a lot more stable but my guess is that it would be illegal due to it not being on the table. Just wanted to see what other people thought about this.
