Seriously, guys. Looking good. Wish we could be up there competing with you again, but the scheduling gods hate us, apparently. Maybe next year we'll be able to make the return to Milwaukee. Here's hoping. Good luck this weekend!

Current set up is the hooks are held back by pneumatic cylinders (not on at time of picture) when the cylinders retract the claws shoot up (via tensioned surgical tubing) and grab the side bars, winch then pulls us up.

They're spring loaded and once they clear the arm they spring vertical.

Ok, the green cord is meant to extend the hanging arm or retract? i can't figure out how it could do both. Can you explain? I'd love to see this thing in action. If I head down to STL for champs I'm going to find your pit.

The cord is just wrapped for the picture, it will be used to pull us up. We didn't want to waste the time to put the cord into the tube, which is where it will be stored during the match before the hooks are deployed.

So scaling sequence.

Drive onto batter
Lift arm
Release hooks
Winch up.

If we make it to St. Louis we have a different scaling mechanism designed. The hooks will most likely be the same, our winch system will just be different.
