The "load" on the diagram is misleading. It isn't something you need to add; it is provided by the internal pullup resistor on the roboRIO's DIO pin.
When we got to competition, our inspector pointed out that the wire was too small of a gauge for a 20amp breaker and asked us to move it to the VRM.
