just saying if that was an elims match and they got the points for the breach and capture, even without the fouls, they'd be at 211 which would beat the current high score.... even if by 1 point.

Oh wow, your right. I thought of that but didn't add 45 to 167.. Did anybody happen to record this match? I turned the stream on and it showed the score, but I didn't see the match.

I can tell you that I was watching 5172 (no disrespect intended, but i am rooting for them), and they got 9 high goals. 2 crosses of the rock wall, a cross of the cheval, I believe a cross of the moat/ramparts (couldn't tell which was in), and then climbed... I truly think that 5172 is going to be a force to be reckoned with at Iowa. Coming off a (in my mind ill deserved) loss in the Northern Lights regional, they have only improved from what I have seen...

Re: Iowa Regional 2016

That entire Alliance consisted of a regional winner, finalist, and semifinalist. I suspect play tomorrow will prove Iowa to be one of the more competitive (and criminally underrated) fields this weekend.

5172 is a beast.. I watched one of their other practice matches and they scored like 7 and I was impressed, but 9.. holy cow.

I too am rooting for them to win their first regional.

I had some fun with my GoPro today and caught this match from a rather unique perspective. Check it out! https://youtu.be/gZSVsr9Iy98

Of course, it was just a practice match and things are sure to get tougher tomorrow and on Saturday. Even so, it was a lot of fun scoring high with 2512 and 1775 this match. It's worth noting that we made 50 points in autonomous (three passes and two goals); not something I've seen happen too many times yet!

The UNI-Dome is an incredible venue for the Iowa regional and our team is so thankful to all the hard-working teams and volunteers who are making this possible! Good luck teams!

Re: Iowa Regional 2016

Well after 59 qualification matches Day 2 at Iowa is over!

5172 has been killing it throughout the day with their high goal shots and I think most likely they'll end up pairing up with 525 tomorrow who has been improving as they go along. 1775 has been keeping up with their fast low goals which makes them super fast/consistent at capturing the tower- it's no wonder they won GKC and they could even surpass 5172 tomorrow to rank 1st. 1730 has definitely improved from their first regional and is one of the better high goal scorers at this regional and if they can be more consistent tomorrow they possibly might end up on 5172's chart for the 1st pick.

That's my brief recap/predictions so far of this regional, I didn't mention many great bots because if I did I would of paragraphs of predictions.. so I decided to slim it down. The rest of quals and elims tomorrow should be exciting to watch!

Re: Iowa Regional 2016

This regional has lived up to the hype with so many impressive robots! I have been most surprised by 4818 because though they finished 58th in their last regional, they are currently in 11th place. Not mention their unique design!

This should be a pretty good afternoon. Interestingly enough, the Wild Cards generators are spread pretty evenly among the alliances.

Wow, you make shooting look easy! I have to say, though, my favorite part of that is the climb. Don't think I've seen any POV of that yet.
