Yes World High Score. Disclaimer - 25pts in fouls. But the score itself does beat out the CVR Semis 1-2.

Aaaand that just got blown out of the water by Fianls 2, 209 score with only 5 foul points. Very very impressive match.

Congratulations to the winners and finalists!

Re: Rocket City Regional 2016

I am in awe of this regional. It was cleanly run, there were a ton of great teams, and the matches were nailbiting.

Congrats to 118, 16, and 3490 on some amazing finals matches. We knew it was going to be a challenge, but thankfully we punched our ticket through a wild card from the #1 alliance.

We can't thank 4188 enough for picking us to be on their alliance, as well as 801 for being an awesome defensive bot. Ranked 32nd, we didn't know what to expect from alliance selections. All 10 of our matches were super hard.

We are super excited for worlds in April! Hope to see everyone there!

Re: Rocket City Regional 2016

As my second regional of my first year of being on drive team, I am so happy to have been a part of this regional. We knew it would be hard going in to it, and we are so excited to have the opportunity to be going to the World Championship.

Congrats to 4188 for being another wild card pick, as well as team 801 for being such a great alliance partner. Everyone worked so well together, and it wouldn't have been possible without both of these teams.

Thanks to all the volunteers for putting on such an amazingly well run regional. The team social Friday night was great, especially since we got to see one of our most influential mentors' father in the NASA Space Camp Hall of Fame. It meant so much to us, and to him.

Thanks again to everyone who was there, showing off their robots and their GP. See you at Worlds!

Re: Rocket City Regional 2016

Team 624 had an amazing weekend in Huntsville. The combination of a great setting including the Space and Rocket Center along with a very well run event made this rookie event well worth the trip. Thank you to the all-star crew of volunteers who made it all possible.

Thank you to all the teams who attended. The competition was fierce and it only made our second round of Stronghold more exciting.

Thank you to our alliance partners: Team 179, Children of the Swamp, and 5472, Stallions. Having to tackle each and every mechanical, electrical, and programming issue that plagued us as a unified team, while frustrating, is in my opinion what FRC is all about. We hope to have the chance to play with you again in the future.

Congratulations to team 1902, Exploding Bacon on their RCA. We've always been a big fan and your resume was truly inspiring.

And finally, congratulations to the champions: Team 16, Bomb Squad, Team 118, The Robonauts, and Team 3490, Viper Drive, with the staggering elims average of 199. We wish we could have faced you in the finals, but seeing your machines play Stronghold at its highest level yet was a sight to behold.

Agreed, thank you to FRC Team 4188 for picking a true dark horse to be on your alliance. You and FRC Team 364 were a joy to compete with and truly the examples of everything that is great about FIRST. I look forward to rooting for y'all at the FIRST Championships.

Again, thank you for the honor.

Our qual matches were extremely tough. There was only one match where we knew it wasn't going to be hard to win (Qual 84). All of the match video is on YouTube. We were 5th in OPR, so I knew that if teams scouted well, we would be noticed even though we were that far down in the rankings.

Re: Rocket City Regional 2016

I sat down and watched the playoffs this afternoon on the webcast. There were absolutely two classes of alliances there (Alliance 1 and then everyone else), but both were absolutely thrilling to watch from start to finish.

Obviously, congratulations to 16, 118, and 3490. Class of the field, bar none.

Personal congrats to the Blue Devil Mechanics on making their first playoff appearance since Palmetto 2012 (when they were known as Los Pollos Locos, building at USC, and had some yutz with sideburns working with them). They should've been playing Saturday afternoon in Myrtle Beach this year, so seeing them go in the first round (and only get knocked out by, y'know, a new world high score) was a treat.

I can't believe Gary Dillard managed to go this long without winning a WFFA across SPAM, HAZE, and now Mad Rockers, but thank you to the latter for finally rectifying that. Over a decade overdue.

Also, congrats to Tina and Mark on their engagement. As they say around here...
