Re: 2016 Finger Lakes Regional
On behalf of Shaker Robotics, Team 2791, I would like to thank the Regional Planning Committee for hosting such a great event again this year. Thank you 5254 for choosing us to be on your alliance, it was a great honor. Once again you have designed a robot that is simple, effective, and robust; congratulations on the Quality Award it is well deserved. 2383 thank you for rounding out the threesome, we were all very excited that you had somehow managed to slip under the radar.
Congratulations to Teams 20, 639, and 1405. We knew that you were the alliance to beat, your strategy was well played. Team 20, we appreciate your kind words, it is great to have such a powerhouse down the street from us. It is unfortunate that we were pitted against one another in not one, but two events this year. Congratulations on your two Gracious Professionalism awards, they are well deserved. 1405, your defense was amazing and your driver team should be very proud. 639, you had one of the best climbers at the event, congratulations on winning Engineering Inspiration. 3044, congratulations on your safety award and the Industrial Design Award. I am still amazed that you did not win the control systems award at either of the regionals as your custom circuitry for the RoboRIO and Tallon SRX is truly the best design I have seen all season. I am glad that you have decided to share the design - I think that you will find it on our robot next year ![]() Congratulations to our pit neighbors 2638 for winning the Chairman's Award. It is clear that you guys know what FIRST is all about and are truly a team to aspire to emulate. We appreciate all of the support from the teams at the regional and the support in this thread. We would have loved to have seen things turn out slightly different. We have entered our team into the wait list lottery and hope to be selected. In my opinion, and apparently others, our students and robot definitely deserve to go and we will wait with bated breath in hopes of winning a spot. |

Re: 2016 Finger Lakes Regional
Congrats to everyone who participated this weekend it truly was an amazing event with outstanding robots, teams, and people. Special thanks to our members on our alliance 4930 and 340, both of you were a pleasure to work with and we cant wait to work with you again soon.
20, 639, and 1405 were great competition and although you got us in the end, you sure made it exciting and fun to play against. your whole alliance was amazing but I have to give prompts to 1405, you guys played the strongest defense at the whole event that really made it difficult for us to score. 3044 is looking forward to seeing everyone at worlds in a few weeks and 4930 just remember if you are in a picking position again, third time is the charm! |

Re: 2016 Finger Lakes Regional
On behalf of Team 340, all we have to say is wow. This event is always a great one, and it didn't come close to disappointing this year. From the qualification matches, to the finals, we were all on our feet once again for such amazing performances from all the teams that competed.
Team 340 would like to thank teams 4930 and 3044 for choosing us to be on your alliance for the regional this year. Although we may not have won it this year (what can you say we are cursed ) what a journey it was! The finals were tough and we each played our hearts out, we couldn't have asked for a better group of people to work with. Congrats to both of you on being picked as wildcards for Champs! Kill it out there for us here at home.Team 340 would also like to give a special shout out to everyone in the stands that were supporting us all the way, especially to team 3015. Our drive team could here every single one of its members cheering us on, we appreciate all your guys support and hope you bring home a win for our teams at champs. 340 also would like to congratulate teams 20, 639, and 1405. You fought hard and really gave our alliance a challenge. The defense by 1405 was impenetrable. That along with 20 being able to shoot so well and 639's scaling ability, proved you were the alliance that deserved the win. We hope the best for you at champs. And as always we would like to thank the regional planning committee, volunteers, and venue staff for all their hard work and dedication. Without you this regional truly couldn't be what it is. Let us see what next year entails for the regional! |

Re: 2016 Finger Lakes Regional
My buddy and teammate Leeland, couldn't say it any better. We thank our partners and provide a good fight to the other alliances.
I do want to wish a personal thanks off to team 20. My mind was there, but my body was giving up. I had a huge amount of pain and didn't want to quit or let the team and alliance down. I apologize if I walked away from anyone trying to talking to me or such. It all worked out in the end and I am grateful. It's touching to see so many people caring. Having me only stay behind my drivers and have 20's human player extend my calls over the entire alliance was very crucial to the D that we played so well. Thank You all, hopefully see ya'll in STL. We have some major fundraising todo in short weeks. When was the last time a #5 seed went undefeated in the eliminations? Last edited by Alex Cormier : 27-03-2016 at 17:35. |

Re: 2016 Finger Lakes Regional
271 had a blast at FLR this weekend, the event is very well organized and everyone was very welcoming and helpful.
We had a rough build season this year and ended up putting a non finished non driving robot into the bag, we came in with a lot of work ahead of us but we ended up pulling through it as much as we could and where happy with the results. Special thanks to team 20 and 1507 who helped us with the parts we needed to get our bot up and running and all the other teams who offered their help as well as all the inspectors who were very patient with us! Congratulations to 20, 639, and 1405 on their win, 2638 on their Chairmans, 639 on their Engineering Inspiration, and all the other award winners. We're looking forward to competing at FLR again in the future, good luck to all the teams in the rest of their season! |

On the subject of video, I just wanted to complement whomever set up the webcast this year. As someone watching from afar, it was great to see two field views in auto, have the music properly mixed with the announcing, and have a clear, high quality stream. Kudos! |
