Interesting Mishap on Field
So this past weekend at the Sacramento Regional we found ourselves Tortuga'd on the drawbridge.
No FTC robots were conceived during the time this image took place. Anyone else have an interesting Tortugas? |

Tortuga
[tawr-too-guh] noun 1. an island off the N coast of and belonging to Haiti: formerly a pirate stronghold. 23 miles (37 km) long; 70 sq. mi. (180 sq. km). I guess I don't follow the premise of this thread. ![]() |

Re: Interesting Mishap on Field
"tortuga" is Spanish for turtle.

Re: Interesting Mishap on Field
In our last quarterfinal match at Los Angeles we flipped while crossing the Rampart. Our alliance partner then crossed the Rampart and, well, attempted to breach us.
https://youtu.be/YHDG6jRnkQw?t=2m26s This was consensual according to the drive coaches. |

Tortuga, including the island above, the Dry Tortugas in Florida, and the FRC 2016 phenomenon, are all derived from the Spanish word for turtle. |

Fortunately, no robots were harmed in the process. That was definitely my favorite match of the Sacramento Regional. What are the chances that our teams' robots would've ended up like that? Luckily, that was the only time our robot ended up on its side, even though most of the weight is in the back instead of the center. |
