Re: Looking for Last Minute Fixes on a Possible "Comm" Error

If not too late talk to the control specialist onsite, and review the driver station logs with him/her.

Re: Looking for Last Minute Fixes on a Possible "Comm" Error

This could be a battery issue. The roboRio has a brownout mode where it will shut down the motors to preserve communications when the voltage gets below 6.8 V. If your using some old or not fully charged batteries you may be running into this. The battery voltage then recovers a bit later with no motor current draws and you pickup some control.

Re: Looking for Last Minute Fixes on a Possible "Comm" Error

Just a tip-
Secure all ethernet/ wire connections and restart the driver station program before EVERY MATCH. Also, cycle batteries to ensure your voltage is up.

We had a couple qual matches where we were dropping close to 100% of packets at times confirmed with the driver station logs. Most other matches, packet loss was very low. Interestingly enough, we were competing in the same match as above, though I can't say if this was one of the matches we had problems in also. I know 2338 had some similar issues too.
