Spy box rules

Does The human player's arms have to remain in the box? it's part of our communication plan, we require room to proceed with it. TO CLARIFY, we would NOT enter the field!!

Re: Spy box rules

So by moving out of the box, do you mean waving your hands/signalling mechanisms out of the box on the non-field side? If so, I don't think you'll have any issues. The only issue is G4, which you've already covered.

From my interpretation, as long as you don't touch anything outside of the spy box and don't reach over the plane of the field wall, you're fine to do whatever.

Re: Spy box rules

yep it's just signaling. I the only thing reaching out is my arms and non-electronic objects that I'll be holding.

I believe you can break the paying field plain because of the Q&A about the baguette and the leg of lamb.

Literally all that q&a clarified was that an unpowered flashlight is functionally equivalent to a baguette. You still can't stick a limb into the field during a match, regardless of what's your holding.

Re: Spy box rules

G4 prevents a Drive Team member from extending any part of the body in to the Field.

G37 says the Drive Team may not contact anything outside their starting area (castle, spy box).

So, as long as you are not holding anything, you can extend outside the starting area, as long as you are not extending into the field.

One possible interpretation of G38 is: If you are holding something, if that something leaves your starting area, then you are contacting something outside your starting area, and are in violation of G37. This would prevent you from extending mutton into the field.

Re: Spy box rules

Are you allowed to use any radio or some type of audio communication device to communicate with the drivers/coach?

No. You cannot have any powered device to communicate or signal the drive team.
