Autonomous High Goal goes In and Out

It happened in eliminations. Our team's cheer stopped abruptly, quickly shifting into gasps of disbelief. How could this have happened? Some say when the lead programmer saw it, he hurled his keyboard across the room and cursed Curie in exasperation...

Jokes aside, this happened during Semifinals Match 3 of 4 and gave us our only loss of the regional. Here's the full match for any interested. Team 2052, 525, and 3018 went on to win the 10,000 Lakes Regional and, additionally, Team 2052 KnightKrawler was fortunate enough to go home with their first Chairman's Award ever in their ten years of participating in FIRST.

Stay tuned, we'll release the full 10,000 Lakes Recap video to our YouTube Channel soon. Subscribe to be notified when it's uploaded!

This happened a lot to Team 166 while we were at the NE District Pinetree Event in Maine this weekend. We were perplexed (and upset quite frankly) when our shots would just bounce out of the goal.

One of our two ball auto shots went through one side and out the other during elims at AZ yesterday.

It's one thing to have this happen once or twice, but consistently? That sounds strange and a special kind of annoying. I hope you guys can find a way to fix it.

Re: Autonomous High Goal goes In and Out

It's happened to us at least 10 times so far this season. We've seen about equal amounts of in the front/out the side and in one side/out the other. Maybe once or twice the chains threw it back out the front of the goal.

It's frustrating, but our shot is hard and nearly horizontal when it enters the goal, with only a slight backspin.

Re: Autonomous High Goal goes In and Out

Team 3044 has had this happen numerous times. Our shot is a fast and straight. It'll also happen in tele from the front or the side. If we hit the angle just right from a side shot, the boulder will bounce off the chains and fly perfectly out the other side.

In one of our matches at RIt we hit 7 high goal shots but one didn't count as it bounced off the chains
