Personally, I feel there are better sites out there than team 9's. But, it is voted on by students. So somebody out there voted for it and team 9 can't vote for themselves.
First, it doesn't really fit the judgement criteria: Function - Easy for a first time user :: After finding a link to another page there comes an easy to navigate drop down menu - Work in all browsers with decent speed :: I don't know how well other browsers like it. I'm on a T1 right now so I don't know speed either. Form/Design - consistant color/iconography? :: No, every page is different - promote vision of FIRST? :: Frankly, I didn't see this at all - Reinforce the team's brand? :: Sure Interactivity - Accessible :: After weeding through the pop-ups and Download attempts it's fine - Personalized? :: No - How interactive? :: It's not, all information, there is an unused guestbook however. - Links to related sites? :: Somewhat, links to Science Teacher's school site, and to scholarship websites. The stunning thing to me, past the fact that they won the award (and please, team 9, don't take offense to that, there are many team sites that fit the procedures put in place that deserved a win) is the comment the webmaster made in the "competitions" page update: Quote:
My .02, this wasn't really reviewed before competition. There was 44 teams there able to vote and team 9 won. If you are really that upset, talk to 44 teams out there on why. |
