Question Anyone else have school cancelled?

Last night my area got hit by a big snow storm and I don't have school today. This is awesome because I can just be on the forums all day! But I'm scared because I don't want to get a delay or anything when I fly to Houston and I need to makeup my homework before I leave. Anybody else have school cancelled today?

We've got insane amounts of snow coming down right now, but we're still having school as we speak. I wouldn't be surprised if they let us out a bit early...

Appleton got hit pretty badly on Thursday and Friday ... we got 6" of snow! In April! Anyway, school was cancelled on Friday, which was nice. I've heard we're supposed to get up to 6" more today ... No matter - I'll be in Houston in a few days!

In college there is no such thing an a cancellation, but some times the professors just don't show up. They're sure not to tell you a head of time though.

All I got was slightly over an hour chopped off the day (Alg II/Trig and Spanish II). Figures. The two classes that actually require thought .Oh, well. At least I don't have to make today up at a later date.

every school but smithtown and hauppage cancelled (where i go to school and my mom works). both towns boarder each other, and every other school was cancelled. we left 15 minutes early. the fact that it snowed at least 3 or 4 inches, on LI, of all times, in April, still amazes me though.

Aw, I thought you were referencing 691, Hartburn's motto.

Anyway, our classes don't get cancelled but if there's rain a lot of people just don't go. Southern Californians are weak in that sense that they can't deal with anything but sunshine...good thing it's sunny 90% of the year.

hey, in cali, it's a law that "Sunshine is guaranteed to the masses."

does that mean we can sue if it rains?

One night last week in Lubbock here at Texas Tech we got a lot of snow. It was crazy becuase during the day it was warm. I was wearing shorts and sandalls and it felt like it was in the mid - 70's. At one point during the afternoon it got dark all of the sudden and became really windy. During the night i look out the window and it was snowing, the first time this school year. It was coming down really fast and in quarter size clumps of snowflakes.

It was pretty cool becuase everyone went out and played in it. The soccerfields outside my dorm still had their lights on for what was going to be the flag football games. A ton of people were out there having snow fights probably about from midnight till 3.

Class was not cancelled and the snow was melted by noon.

Last year around November it snowed enough for the school to cancel class here. Also i was excited becuase it was the first time for me to see real snowfall, and I was a freshman in college. In Houston you dont get much snow at all. In the 13 years I lived there it snowed 3 times. Once it was cold enough for it to stick for a few 2 or 3 hours, but thats it. The other times it was just cold enough to either have freezing rain or non-sticking snow.
