Hello Dan,

Thank you for bringing this question to light. While it is our goal to know as much information as possible, you are correct in that we cannot get every team's essay, or every team's video, or know about every outreach event that a team hosts. However, we do know quite a bit - several of NEforecast's team members have experience writing Chairman's Awards for their own FRC teams and in that process, they learn more about their competitors' submissions. We also get small bits of data from other sources - the judges' speeches at events about winning teams, the winning teams' videos (if presented), on team websites, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more.

We hope this answered your question. If not, please do not hesitate to contact us again!

-NEforecast

Like they say on GameSense, we don't take ourselves too seriously, and we hope you don't either. We do it for the fun and we hope you enjoy our predictions.

Re: NEforecast: New England District Championship

Thank you for the quick and detailed response. You have definitely done more research than I have on what the competing Chairman's teams have done.

Perhaps that bevy of knowledge should be shared with the rest of us so that we can all weigh in on which four teams we believe will be recognized?

Ahhhh! When I first saw this post I jumped up and down shouting I was so excited, my family thinks I'm a little weird now... Great analysis, looking forward to competing for Chairmans and on the field. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah that what we thought last year! We would love to play again with Mayhem.

By the way - people discussing CT teams keep leaving 230 out - they are right there after 195 and 558 imo.

Boy, that would be terrific! We have the top auto scores in N.E. and have been working on improving it. Our tank tread would be good at defense.

We will see this weekend. Can't wait!

We had a great official season nonetheless, and very much look forward to playing with everyone at the various off-seasons.

I personally will be down there Saturday to check things out. Looking forward to some wicked crazy matches, New England style. Congrats and good luck to those competing this weekend.

This is a crying shame, we thought you guys had an excellent design and strategy and personally I was really hoping to get a picture of the robots that inspired our redesign next to our robot.

Re: NEforecast: New England District Championship

228 has a new trick or two up its sleeves for NE Champs this weekend, hopefully! I'm hoping we can build on our performance at RIDE and continue to seed high, but the level of competition here is just sky high.

One team not to overlook in this crowded field of competitors is rookie team 6153. They were instrumental to our alliance's success at RIDE and are a very reliable breaching, low goal, and defense robot.

4761 also quietly built one of their best robots ever, and are a very good team to work with. Somehow at Rhode Island they managed to fall to the second pick of the #3 alliance, but they were a top 10 robot at that event easily. They should only get better and better.

Re: NEforecast: New England District Championship

I'll post my own bracket, why not.

1. 1519, 1058, 3467 W
2. 195, 133, 839 SF
3. 558, 4564, 2648 F
4. 125, 166, 4761
5. 319, 155, 2168 SF
6. 238, 228, 176
7. 177, 5687, 4909
8. 5813, 2067, 4905

3467 and 2648 are the two big steals of the draft, both with good breaching and accurate shooting that brings both alliances to the finals, but 1519's autonomous shot and 1058's climb carve out the win for #1.

I can't say I mind the results! ;-)

You do have 133 competing on both sides of the bracket though... losing in the semi's both times. Too bad their alliances didn't both make it to the Finals for a "win-win" situation for BERT!

Edit: Skragnoth beat me to it.
