I'd probably put us somewhere on there but I'm a bit biased
After 2 regional wins, and a 3rd seed at another, you guys definitely deserve to be on that list.

I'm a bit biased but, I would have to put 5431 in that list.

If you watch the Houston Regional we were the first pick for the second alliance. In our first regional I would agree that we did terrible, but our bot has been much improved since then. Right now our problem is that we are using Java as our main programming languages and that it takes us too long to pick up boulders. In the next week we hope to solve both of the problems to make our bot even better than it was during the past two regionals.

On a side note we did knock out 624 in Houston soooo....

Only 525 qualified for champs.

(4646 my be there too but I'm not going to say so myself.)
My votes for the best in Iowa:
525: The best robot (in my opinion) in the state this year is definitely 525's. 2 regional wins, a chairman's award, the Swartdogs have done it all with a very capable breacher, and a high quality catapult.
5576: Team Terminator earns my vote for the second best robot from Iowa. They had a very good high goal shoot, (once they got their shooter dialed in), which when coupled with a good hanging mechanism, makes them a team to put on the list of top robots that did not qualify for champs.
3928: Team Neutrino built a robot that one could argue had more potential scoring than any other robot in the state. Consistency was a issue for them this year, and resulted in them often times running low goal cycles, as opposed to the high goal cycles that I am sure they would have preferd to running had they had their shoot fully dialed in.
967: The best of the full time low goalers, the Iron Lions focused their efforts on running cycles over many different defenses and low goals. While they likely had hoped for a better season than going unselected at the Iowa regional, and a 5th selection at the North Star regional, it was still a strong performing robot, (when they were not having problems with break-downs).
167: The Children of the Corn combined a very good shooter with a treaded drivebase that was great for defense crossing. A robot that could be very easily over-looked if not scouted well.

I did not include my team (4646, Team ASAP) as my opinions are biased. An arguement could be made to put us in this list, but each of these other teams (in my opinion) are all very deserving of the positions in their own ways.

5431 had an excellent showing at LSR, I was very impressed with your high goal shooting consistency. You guys certainly have an opportunity to gain a lot of exposure in St Louis. The semifinal matches against you and your alliance were a blast, I only wish we could have played you 3vs3 instead of 2vs3 in the last match, but that's the way this game goes.

Wish you guys the best at working out your issues and at champs. I think we have a very strong set of Texas reps this year.

Asking out of curiosity, where is the MO State Champs ranking system posted/how did you calculate it?

I've seen discrepancy between this and another post about order.

Thanks

Here. IIRC the planning committee for the event uses mostly the standard district point system.

Thanks for the compliments. I also wish we could have gone in a 3vs3 as well, but as you said that's how the game goes. The team is really excited and I'm kinda sad that both of our teams couldn't have made it to St Louis. Guess we'll just have to fight it out next year huh?

2486: This speedy robot won San Diego. While still refining a high goal shot, consistent breaching has will take them far.
1011: Winner of Colarado with a fast low goal cycle and breaching ability that could easily rack up valuable 4 rp matches.
498: Winner at AZ North and showed a huge advancement in quick breaching and shooting ability just a few weeks later at AZ West.
Spot on with this list for Arizona this year. Thanks to the wildcard berth at AZ West for 4183 all of these teams will be at Champs this year too.

In general I think 525 is an extremely underrated, extremely good team but I'd have to say that 2451 and 2052 are both ahead of them this year

My top 5 from Georgia when the teams are performing at their best.

1. 2415
2. 2974
3. 1746
4. 1261
5. 4468

My South Carolina rating basically mirrors Billfred's.

I think 1746 at their best is incredible frankly. I agree 2415 is tops in GA, but when 1746 is going, 10 low goals and a hang have been done. Also, although 2974's shooter is the most consistent in GA, their intake keeps me from giving them a very high rank. With that in mind, my rankings are:

1. 2415
2. 1746
3. 1261
4. 4188
5. 2974
***With 4468 and 1648 hot on the trail.

Re: Top 5 Teams In Your State/Area before CHAMPS

In Ontario, first two are obvious. 1114 may have their ups and downs functionally this year but there is no question that they top the list in terms of both inspiration of other teams and excellence of their design.

1. 1114
2. 2056
3. 610
4. 4039
5. 4678 (if you haven't watched this robot - check out Windsor-Essex or Waterloo - it is amazing to watch the drawbridge auto). This is their second year of building a top quality machine.

Tied for 5 would be 1305.
