Well... it was a question not a statement one with a comedic edge at that. I had no doubt there was rational behind it. Although even 118 could do something they even slightly regret.

I also asked it because they have historically taken mechanisms off their robots as the season progresses. This year it was the sally port arm/draw bridge arm last year it was the can articulator ect.

I just want to point out that from an outsider I read your post as quite aggressive.

I would also note that his question is just a question and not a statement. He never stated any fact to argue about.

Maybe I'm reading a tone that isn't intended. Please tell me if that is so.

Given how their username sounds phonetically, along with some of their post history, I can't imagine it's a serious account.

The way you phrased the question, it could easily be interpreted as "do you regret making the stupid decision to use a grappling hook?". I know some of our team members wanted to ask "with the experience 118 has accumulated using their grappling hook, what would they change?".

You have described your own personal growth in another thread. Keep growing and you will become one of the members that people will turn to for an authoritative opinion.

FYI, at Lone Star this last weekend, their sallyport/drawbridge arm was nowhere to be seen and the grappling hood performed flawlessly every time I saw it deployed.

Many new unique climbers will no doubt be seen at championship, but 118's will definitely go down in the history books as one of the greatest.

You are inferring that I think its inspirational because of the benefits of using such a hook, including the use of PTO's, etc.
I'm actually not and already understand the benefits and methods you mention.

I would still argue that it is the most inspirational feat in 2016. Many of the other team's lifts this year have been done before in at least some similar fashion. Grappling hooks are what you see in Batman movies and conceptual thoughts that teams in the past may have joked about.
But to actually do it and make it look possible to replicate? Inspirational.

The idea of using a PTO was an inspirational feat back in 2010 because it was never really done before, let alone thought of by most other teams. That would be my choice of greatest inspirational feat back then.

1)His question was incredibly neutral, not sure how you interpreted as such.
2)The second point you make has no relevance here, he asked a question, didn't make a statement or a suggestion.
3)He pointed out he asked because 118 is known for crazy cool mechanisms that they sometimes remove.

Calling out a student isn't always necessary.
