Re: 2016 MAR Season
Congratulations to 225, 341 and 1257 for winning MAR Champs! What a crazy event.
Team 225 really earned that first seed spot and the event win; such an incredible machine. I can't wait to see how well they do in St. Louis. MAR is sending 30 teams to St. Louis this year, and here they are (in order of ranking): Code:

Re: 2016 MAR Season
Huge congrats to 225, 341, and 1257 for winning, 3314, 25, and 1089 for an incredible finalist showing, Rookie All-Stars 6016, 1218 for Engineering Inspiration, and 321 and 1923 for well-deserved Chairman's awards. Thanks so so much to 3314 for lending us a spare output shaft after ours spectacularly snapped in half in our penultimate qualification match, causing us to sit out for our last (it was fixed in time for eliminations, but I guess that was for naught
). And, thanks to all the volunteers for putting on another excellent event. It was great to see and compete with so many good friends once more. 1676 is proud to again represent the MAR region at World Champs next week. Here are the final district ranking point counts according to my unofficial Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing. Hope some people found it useful over the season. Lastly, here is all of 1676's full-field footage of the Qualification and Elimination Matches, Alliance Selections, and Awards Ceremony from this weekend: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...gwLB8Te-nnTMwe. It looks like we accidentally missed recording Qualification Match 51; my apologies to the teams in that match. We can't wait to see some of you in St. Louis, and the rest at some off-seasons and next year! Best of luck to all! |

Team 1257 would like to give a shout out to our alliance partners 225 TechFire and 341 Miss Daisy; you guys rock! Also I second those congrats. See you in St. Louis! Also: we ship our robot Tuesday morning, right? 1257 hasn't been to worlds since 2005, so any tips about the CMP would be appreciated. |

Re: 2016 MAR Season
225 had another great MAR Champs -- we want to give a big thanks to all the MAR event staff for putting it on.
Thanks to 341 and 1257 for joining our alliance! We really couldn't have accomplished it without both of these teams-- 341 covered everything offensively when we experienced technical issues, and 1257 covered everything on the defensive end of things. Congrats to 321 and 1923 on your Chairman's Awards! |

Re: 2016 MAR Season
Looks like 1403 has officially declined their invitation to World Champs. Their point slot has been passed on to 1143 (congrats!).

Re: 2016 MAR Season
Team 56 also declined their Championship invitation, so now 193 is qualified!
We've worked with 56 twice this year (at Montgomery and Lehigh), and they were fantastic alliance partners. It's a shame that they can't make it to St. Louis, but 193 is also a very deserving team and it'll be great to have them at Champs. Last edited by AGPapa : 18-04-2016 at 12:35. |

Re: 2016 MAR Season
If my team was interested in splitting a bus to FIRST Championship with another team from MAR, how would we go about doing that?

Re: 2016 MAR Season
A little late to the party here, but the BambieBotz had a fantastic time at our first MAR champs, and we will definitely carry some lessons-learned and inspiration into next year.
Personally, I was extremely pleased to see 225, 341, and 1257 win the competition. As always, congratulations are in order for all of the MAR award winners, but I want to point out that this alliance was a very special one to 4637. Each of these teams provided the BambieBotz with fabricated or COTS parts for our robot: 225: a milled hex hub for our ball intake at the SCH district. 341: A pair of orange hooks for our climber after we fell off the bar at the end of the match (we didn't end up using them, but the gesture was generous). 1257: manufactured the extra long toughbox mini output shafts for us when AndyMark was completely out of stock. Each of these three teams were an important part of why our season was our most successful one yet. I hope their selfless attitudes continue to permeate through MAR in years to come. Congratulations to Tech Fire, Miss Daisy, and Parallel Universe, and thank you for setting a good example for our team. |

Re: 2016 MAR Season
1712 had one heck of a season in MAR, and now that I've gained some portion of the energy this season took out of me back, I figured I'd thank some of the many many teams and individuals that helped us out this season.
First off, the volunteer crew at MAR Champs was nothing short of outstanding. I believe we were ahead of schedule for almost all of qualifications, despite cutting a minute off the cycle times. Very few connections issues. Special congratulations to the event manager, Eric Zygmont, on his Volunteer of the Year Award. He definitely falls into the "huh, what? They haven't already won that!?!" category of award winner. The teams were once again incredible, all season long. We received numerous parts and tools from teams at every event we went to. There's honestly too many to name here. In particular, special thanks to 225, 708, 1403, and 4342 for helping us with some parts at ideal moments throughout the season. And thanks to all the teams who expressed concern and offered aid to us after our robot crawled on his back during QF3-3, and ended up with smoking BAG motors. The outpouring of support to get our robot back on its feet was truly incredible. To all our alliance partners, thanks again. Every one of you was a pleasure to work with, and we formed some pretty potent alliances along the way. I believe 103 and 1403 is the only teams we've been paired with in eliminations before, so it was a treat getting to work with new teams. In particular, 4342 and 708 are teams we've faced off on the other side of the glass with in the past, so finally getting to be on the same alliance was awesome. It's a pity that both of you ended up having some drivetrain issues, but watching 708 rebuild an entire drive module in roughly 15 minutes was awe inspiring. Special shoutout to Cougar Robotics as well, as they were a class act partner, willing to cooperate and pitching in with anything we needed to keep pushing further. Thanks to all of 4637, 103, 4342, 1218, 316, 708, and 1403!! To the many "opponents" we faced in qualifications and eliminations, what a season it has been. So many great matches. I have nothing negative to say about any of our elimination opponents all season long. It was a litany of teams that I have tremendous respect for. 1143, thanks for a pair of real hard fought quarter-finals sets, in both Westtown and MAR Champs. The defense we played against you was born purely out of respect for the scores you could put up if we left you unchallenged. 75, no hard feelings towards you for the flip. Things happen quickly in the heat of competition, and its awfully hard to know exactly what's happening on the far side of the field (especially in this game). 5401 you guys really proved that you were an excellent scoring machine. Even with our defense against 1143 and 75, your alliance was able to pretty easily capture the tower thanks to your low goal prowess. I hope everything was okay with your machine after you fell off the bar in the first QF match. All in all, a red card is not the way 1712 hoped to win. We have nothing but respect towards all of your teams. |

Re: 2016 MAR Season
It looks like both 5624 and 1989 are now registered for World Champs. Don't know if either got in via waitlist or by MAR declines, since they were the next highest ranked teams after MAR Champs. Either way, very glad to see them both qualified, especially 5624, our winning alliance partners at both Mt. Olive and Bridgewater this year (and 1989 has a great bot as well!)
