Re: Map of Championship Teams

Team 1529 is missing from Indiana, as well as 1747. 3147 didn't qualified for worlds

Re: Map of Championship Teams

It is interesting that our team 1983 from Seattle isn't on either of these maps.
I wonder how many other teams aren't there?

Oh I guess they are just hidden. ALL of the teams in Seattle are represented by a single team's balloon. (4911) Kind of goofy.

Re: Map of Championship Teams

I like data!
Nice to see the Champ map and the map of all teams in the World and in Seattle.

My first thought is to area/color code the regions population so we can see the relationship between population density and teams. Another filter could be the location of First corporate sponsors and the third filter could be manufacturing activity. My guess is that most teams are located near cities, sponsors and manufacturing activity.
It would also be interesting to learn more about how teams are formed and sustained that exist outside of these locations.

As Bob from team 1983 mentioned, there are some errors in your data.
My team is not listed. We are on the east side of Seattle (15 miles east). Also missing are a number of teams in the Bellevue area and another team in my school district (Liberty HS).

Maybe cross reference the FIRST ranking docs. Here is one for the Pacific NW.

Re: Map of Championship Teams

Updated the map with the latest CMP Team List. Also, I added a small offset to the map coordinates in cases where multiple teams are listed in (and geocoded to) the same city name. This will make all teams visible on the map. Since full street addresses are not provided, the team location is still approximated to the center of the listed team city.

Seems like your missing 4613. Unless I just skipped over it.

We are there somewhere, we might be hidden under 3132 as we both only have Sydney in TIMS. If you click on the dot in Sydney we should appear.
