The ball gets compressed about two and a half inches. We have not tried more than the one lunacy wheel, the smaller wheels are simply be used as flywheels. The compression seems to be only relevant to the friction, which to limit the rotational energy so that more of the total energy goes towards transnational. This gets a straighter shot, one without backspin, allowing us to be very accurate close up.
