Loss of a Team Member, Mentor and Friend
It is with a heavy heart that I must notify the FIRST community of the loss of one of our members. Dan Creasy passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday due to a motorcycle accident.
Dan was the lead Scouting/ Strategy mentor for FRC Team 869. He worked with his group to both analyze other teams as well as build positive relationships with other teams at our competitions. Dan was not just a mentor of team 869 but a true friend and supporter of what FIRST stands for. His analytical mind, great positivity and devotion to gracious professionalism is something that we were all privileged to experience. Although we have lost Dan, his memory will live on as we strive every day to measure up to the gold standard that he set for us. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan’s friends and family during this tragic time. He will be truly missed. May he rest in peace.

Jeff and the Powercord family,
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. This news is such a shock. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan on the last day of the Bridgewater-Raritan District Event three weeks ago as I watched some of the elimination rounds sitting with 869 and we went out to dinner after your Chairman's win. He was very knowledgeable and instantly likeable. I was looking forward to more good times in his company. Please let me know if there is anything I or 25 can do to help you during this difficult time. Too young, too soon

Dan was such a great friend, and he will be terribly missed.
He had such an eye for scouting, and was just an overall great person. I know he will be looking down on 869's championship run, and will be helping and coaching you guys along the way. Rest easy Dan.

This past summer, when one of our students passed away the day before our off-season event, PowerCord stepped up to the plate and supported us with more help than we could possibly have asked for. If there is anything that we can do for you throughout this process, please don't hesitate to ask. The MidKnight Inventors count 869 among our dear friends, and we are sending you all so much love and good energy to get through this.
It is so terribly unfair and saddening to lose anyone in your team's family - Dan was such a sweet person, and his absence will certainly be felt throughout this week at the Championship. Sending love and peace to the PowerCord family & to Dan's family and friends.

Jeff and all of the Powercord family, I am terribly sorry for your loss.
Dan was an incredible mentor, and I so looked forward to working with him for years to come. He was so inspired and interested and excited to participate in strategy/scouting.
