Re: Thank you 148, 1678, and 2990!

I watched you guys play with our team in Hopper and Einstein and you guys did a great job! You really did deserve to get picked

One question, since I wasn't there in person. How come the alliance switched you out for 2990 in Einstein?

I wasn't told directly, but our drivers told me that the alliance leaders (148 and 1678) wanted to see how 2990 did and judge which bot was best to put on the field. It was their decision and we fully respect that.

We had some trouble with our intake. Our intake motor had a key that sheared twice in Hopper elims. It sheared when there was any considerable contact or outside force applied to our intake arm. Since our main strategy was to feed boulders to our alliance and starve the opponents (see: QF1-2 270 to 130, 24 high goals scored by our alliance), it was fully acceptable for the alliance to sub out a bot that had trouble with the main mechanism they were using. (Though, we don't know if this was a reason behind it, as nothing was said about our intake.)

No hard feelings here. 364 fully understands the situation and we are thankful that 148, 1678, and 2990 were able to make it to semis on Einstein.

Ah, I see. That's unfortunate, but truly when I heard 1678 and 148 choose you guys I was thinking: that's a good pick. And it really proved to be a valuable decision. Hope we see you guys next year what with the champs split!

I want to congratulate our friends Team 364. I was so proud to hear you guys had made it through the division and were headed on to the finals. You work hard and spend a lot of hours training and perfecting and it paid off. Way to go Fusion and everyone else who fought their way onto Einstein!

You guys had an awesome robot! When we were sitting in the stands, both us and 148 couldn't believe that we were getting both you and 2990. Two robots that should have been picked earlier, but (lucky for us) flew under the rader of many alliance captains. You were an incredibly important part in the alliance's success, your team should be super proud! It was fun to play with you, and I hope to see you guys in the future!

WE were SOOO happy to be on this alliance! I, personally, was not able to make it to World's, but I heard 148, 1678, and 364 were VERY fun to play with on the fields on Hopper and Einstein! Thanks for picking us, and hopefully we'll see you at our champs next year!

Both 364 and 2990 were almost equally ranked in our draft--you were the #1 and #3 robots on our 2nd pick list for the feeder/defender role. I was so glad to see both of you get to play very significant roles in our alliances success. We look forward to seeing you next year!

BTW, I have a particular soft spot for PNW bots given my family connection to the Skunks. I loved having 2990 on our alliance, making them the first PNW team to play on Einstein (and 364's first was awesome too.)

There have been PNW teams on Einstein (492 in 2015, and maybe one or two others I believe), however 2990 was the first PNW team to actually touch the Einstein carpet. And 2990's FTC sibblings 7013 Hot Wired from Oregon won the FTC Inspire Award! As well as being FTC world finalists.

Re: Thank you 148, 1678, and 2990!

Surprisingly, 2990 have no affiliation with 7013 - they only happen to share the same name (as far as I know anyway).

Regardless, it's great to finally see a PNW team on Einstein & an Oregon FTC team winning the inspire award. Many years of excellence from the state finally came to fruitation!
