Urgent- irreplacable items missing from 987 pit

I'm going to resurrect this thread to get it to the widest audience possible. It's a crying shame that a team as gracious and professional as 987 would be treated this way.

We were across from you in the pits and I was there as you guys were packing up after all was done. I'm very sorry to hear that these items are missing.

Has anyone found anything out yet?
Are they actually irreplaceable? Any way we can pool some resources to get new letter jackets, for instance? I would gladly put in some cash.

Still, I hope that they are just misplaced and that someone comes forward with them soon. My team is just now getting to the cleaning and organizing of the stuff we've brought back with us. I don't think we have them, since we packed up long before you guys, but I will certainly check. Good luck.

Unfortunately I can't help. But I'll bump this thread so it gets as much visibility as possible. That really sucks!

I'm bumping for visibility too. My team won't be unpacking until next week so while its extremely unlikely that some prankster dumped them into one of our totes and we didn't notice, there's a slim chance that the jackets might be there. It's awful that they were taken from your pit!

In case anyone is missing a phone left in the ladies' room closest to the Carver pits, I turned it into the Pit Admin desk.

I would assume the irreplacibility refers to the sentimental value attached to the jacket.

I unfortunately had a similar thing happen in our pit on Einstein. Between the time we were asked to leave the floor for closing ceremonies, and the time they allowed us back on the field after the ceremonies, both my team jacket and my wife's had been taken from our Einstein pit. I checked with all our alliance partners, the staff, etc. to no avail. They left my other coat and my laptop alone- it seems they were after team jackets.

Edit: The custom jacket was NOT found!!! Only the much less expensive team jackets were located.

It worked, and I got a PM from someone who found the jacket (at least the custom 987 letterman's jacket) in the stands and is sending it home!!!

I had my team go through our stuff since we were across from you in the pits, but we didn't find the jacket or anything else. For once I wish we had messed up, then we could fix it. Sorry you still haven't found the jacket!

It's not just the sentimental value but the fact that I had it custom made and there are only two people in the world that have it. Myself and my co-driver. I would really appreciate getting it back because it's a large chunk of change to replace and I don't want to spend it again if someone has it.

The jacket showed up in the school mail today! A big thanks goes out to everyone who helped get it back to Las Vegas. Judging from the postmarks, it was no small task getting it back home. Thank you again.
