For anyone that needs proof that stacking is important...

Check this out: http://www.soap108.com/2003/scouting...nt=15&match=84

In this match we went out there with baxter... we ended up getting most of the wall on our side of the field but one our big stack got knocked and we lost some boxes...luckily being a stacker our team was able to put a box back on top, with another box in the way even...and we scored 220 point, which at that point was the high score for the day...

Woo baxter wooo stacking woo robots!!!

Watch match 84 from chicago to see the match.

Hey! 537 stacks too! We almost made that stack of three at Chicago, but some came and rammed the stack of 2 we were about to put the third box on...so close to making Balint do 81 pushups!

Our robot doesn't even have to stack to be kool...But it stacks anyway.

We made a stack at SVR even though we knew it was going to get knocked over...We just felt like showing off.

Our claw is deadly, man. We have a pic of Mark sticking his head in between them before a match...Ahh...Priceless stuff...

i'll stack your boxes yesterday!

our robot USED to be able to stack, until we reduced the lifting ability to cut down on the top-heaviness. now it only lifts stacks a few centimetres off the ground (it used to be able to lift high enough to get it ontop of another box to stack.)

Did anyone else find the lack of stacking in the finals a bit boaring at some regionals?

I mean every match was basicly the same:
1> Autonomous either kills the robot directly behind you or dashes for the top
2> Kill the wall of boxes in the middle
3> Autono ends, humans kill the HP stacks...
4> Fight for the top.

Where's the dynamic in that...thats not much fun to watch after a few matches...

I think there were only like 1 or 2 times that someone stacked in the finals in chicago!

I agree. The most exciting matches are the (appropriately titled) 'flailers' that come and sweep the bins over the lexan, and the stackers. That's where the points are, and while pushers and under the bar bots are also great strategies, flailers and stackers seem to be the key.
