Go to Post Seeing a bunch of teams from Indiana and probably Michagin competing at the same time.... If I wanted to see that, I'd just go to the Championship in Atlanta. :yikes: - Barry Bonzack [more]

Anyone need a digital system? CSV files make your life easier!

Hey Guys! Recently I finished a scouting system that uses any game controller you want. All you have to do is create a button map file using your PC's "devices" menu for reference. I will be including a HOW TO guide soon, it will include controller maps, quick start, and how to add controllers/ deal with the output file. I will continue to bug fix and update the repository Here are a few of it's weaknesses and strengths...

Weaknesses (or room improvement)

~Some parts of screen are jittery and/or do not work
-such as the total score value (still doesn't effect the output file)
-button maps for some pre-supported controllers are made to fit weird configs
-I recommend copying the logitech controller's file to match button map
~ Simply put -- Not everyone will appreciate the UI, just something I crammed
-Easy to fix with editor
~Must use Visual Studio
~Relies on computer's battery life
-we use an older bot battery and an inverter to power station (link below)
Strengths

~Tracks Attempts and Successes which helps determine what they want to do and what they can do
~Outputs file in .csv format!!
-allows instant data analysis in excel
~Fun to use for six teammates
-perfect for those who wander around with nothing to do
~Completely customizable interface!
-Easy to change up or beautify the UI with visual studio
-Controller frenzy!
-supports any PC formatted plug in controller
-controller map file can be unique to the type of controller
-allows button combos specific to the scouter's preference
~Automatic match updater
-When initially opening the program, one can input a .csv file
-File includes team number in order of matches
-When match ends, just click the space bar and the teams update
~Easy to use! (With practice)
-Each scout is responsible for one bot on the field
-Faster and WAAAYYY more fun than paper
Shout out to team 842 *Falcon Robotics* for providing a great platform to write the code! Layout and updating code comes from their 2011 system

Any questions? Just ask!

Excited to see what you guys can do with it,
JW ~team 1939

To access, go to the github repo and open the "User Controls" branch. That is the most updated code. Use Microsoft Visual Studio to open "Multiple Joysticks.sln" and from there, you can debug and run the code.
