Team 330 and 217 from 2008. Loved their robot and how simple and effective it was.

Had to go look at a video on TBA, but I remembered that team 71 loaded itself up with 4-6 tetras from the human station, then proceed to place 2 at a time. As a freshman, I marveled at their drive train.

111 was also crazy unique in how they grabbed tetras off the autoload. 2005 was pretty unique year in robot design.

I just picked the first 3 that came to mind. I could ramble off 233, 217, 1771, 67, 33, 1251, 469, 118, 190, 111, 27, 365.

I don't know if this is biased or not but I loved 1717 in 2012. I wasn't part of the academy back then, but that's the robot that got me interested in joining.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

I've heard a lot about team 1717 in 2012, but what was so incredible about their robot? Not to undermine them or anything, but there were several designs from that year with a similar drivetrain.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

Oh, shoot, I just realized I forgot 1325 from 2015. It made watching recycle rush fun(ner).

Also going to bring up 987 this year, which I think may be the only robot for me that competes with 971 in terms of most fun to watch. Their design is just incredibly unique and ambitious.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

233 in 2011 was probably the most influential robot to me. The sheer elegance of that robot is something I still try to emulate this day.

And that 3 tube autonomous mode was super cool.
