Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

2012: 1717
1717 was one of the only teams that made it beneficial not to triple balance that year as they could score enough balls in 30 seconds to score more than 40 pts with a double balance.

2013: 469
This one was hard as there were so many amazing robots in 2013 but I think 469 is my favorite due to their flexibility in both auto and teleop, and their scoring potential.

2014: 254
254 was amazing to watch in 2014 due to their driver's skill, three ball auto and the unforgettable last second score on Einstein.

2015: 2826
I remember seeing their auto reveal at a team meeting and being absolutely stunned. The robot is beautiful and could create lots of stacks in a short amount of time.

2016: 971
971 was my favorite this year due to the fact that they could do pretty much everything and be top-notch in auto scoring, boulder scores and scaling.

I think my overall favorite robot is 1717 from 2012. The swerve drive was flawless and their match at CVR where they one by scoring 4 balls at during the last 15 seconds with 330 dead was an amazing match to watch.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

My favourite robot in FRC so far has been 148s from 2015, Batman and Robin. The way that 148 went about solving the problem of Recycle Rush with Batman and Robin was so unique and yet the concept was super simple, watching the reveal stills blows me away.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

i haven't been in FIRST as long as most people here but I remember the first robot that just blew my mind as student on a team and because of that I think it has to be my favorite. It was team 4143 during 2013. I saw it at the Wisconsin regional and it seriously changed how I thought about FIRST robots. I still talk about it to this day because it's so freaking cool.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

2005: 1305 & 121
2006: 254/968 & 217
2007: 254/968, 40, & 1114
2008: 40 & 330
2009: To Follow Karthik I'd go with 148's human player
2010: 254/968
2011: 233, 1717, & 40
2012: 330 & 2826
2013: 195, 118, & 469
2014: 2056
2015: 254
2016: 330

All time would be the 2007 robots. Loved the clean elevator and drivebase combo on Raptor and RAWC. 40 and 1114 with the elevator with four bar linkage combos for extra reach. It was the first year I really learned about teams outside of New England and Simbot Prime blew my mind.

67 in 2013 was my favorite to watch. Can't believe that machine didn't win any official events, divisions or IRI. Was amazing to watch when they started scoring.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

Everyone's hating on 2009, but I learned a lot of cool things from robots from that year, even if the game was trash.

67 taught me that iteration and rebuilds win Championships.
111 taught me to always use full volume when game piece # isn't limited
973 taught me some cool stuff about frame design and

217 was just a monster that year, along with 1771. Two of my favorite bots.

2013: 469, 1986
2014: 2481, 254, 67, 971, 1986, 16, 846 (favorite year tbh)

2016: 16, 254, 5172

Favorite of all time has to be 469 in 2013, I'm astounded even now every time I look at that robot

Also, special shoutouts to teams 71 and 842 for producing excellent robots despite not a lot of resources

But it would have been SO SICK.
Then there were all these other hypotheticals of how to beat a perfect death cycle. It was cool stuff.

Just imagine how sick it would have been to see some sort of perfect death cycles with robots like 900 and 1918 against a 254-2056 Waterloo-type repeatable catching alliance.

See now you got me started on it.

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

Favorite robots by year:

2009: 1625 - no seriously, 67 and 111 got all the hype at the end for winning worlds but without question 1625 was the best scorer of 2009. They put more balls in the goal than anyone else, they dumped faster than anyone else, they were quick, had great floor pickup, the whole package.

2010: 469, 1114

2011: 254, 1538, 1503

2012: 341, 16, 2826, 67

2013: 469, 67, 1114, 3467

2014: 254, 4039, 469

2015: 1114, 148, 118

2016: 195, 1058, 330, 125, 254

I'm sure I'm forgetting several and will come back to edit
