I completely agree with this being the craziest match of 2016.

Past that, any of the matches (Newton Quarters 1, Match 2 for example) where the poofs are able to run their low goal cycles without much opponent intervention are pretty spectacular. Your jaw will drop at the number of boulders they're able to consistently put in.

330's Driver is the best I've ever seen, every move is fluid with every action having a purpose. that match was completely amazing.

Also look at any of 971's matches, their vision is hands down the best I've ever seen!

Another great one featuring 254 is Newton Qualification Match 100, when they're able to push their partners off of the Outer Works and onto the Batter to win the match by 1 point.

Re: Craziest Stronghold Matches

Not quite a match, but post-match Waterloo Finals 3 was pretty hype.

Einstein Semis 1, matches 1 and 2 were really hype as well. Easily the smoothest recovery I've ever seen in FRC.

While I agree that the Hopper/Carver 330 flip was the craziest, I've gotta go with the homer pick and say our match on Hopper with 148 and 1678 where we scored 270 was pretty awesome (24 high goals!) https://youtu.be/KPdCfKm_mys

Re: Craziest Stronghold Matches

Today during the state championships, we had an amazing last match. We lost connection about half a minute into teleop (we think that the roborio lost power and had to reboot.) After we connected, there were about 30 seconds left. Our driver was able to finish the defense he was trying to cross when we lost connection, finish another defense AND make it to the batter for a capture with about 1-2 seconds remaining. It was really amazing.

As one of your alliance partners for that match it really felt like it was a swing of a 0 to 4 RP when you guys came back alive. You guys did fantastic.

I thought Carson Qualification Match 42 was a dramatic match.

Things did not look good at the start of this one. With 25 seconds left in the match, I would never have predicted this outcome.

Re: Craziest Stronghold Matches

The overall match was okay, but what made it amazing was the very end. With 6 seconds left in the match, 1761 was still in the neutral zone, but with some skilled driving, they managed to get off of the rock wall and coast onto the batter in the last 2 seconds. Here's the link.

Number of goals scored in auto and first 110 seconds of teleop: 5
Number of goals scored in final 25 seconds of teleop: 5

Definitely a rough first portion of the match, but that alliance is the type that makes scoring 5 balls in 25 seconds feasible!

... for the win, too!

North Bay Regional Qualification Match 10. I wish someone had video of this one because I can't figure out how an alliance that never once moved managed to rack up 20 points in fouls.

Don't forget the human player fouls. I'd bet that a ref had a chance to look behind the castle wall and saw 4 extra boulders back there and nobody trying to return 'em. Early matches in early-season events had an awful lot of HPs who hadn't figured out that "Oh, we need to return these things if there are too many, we need to keep an eye on that!" (Even later-season events had some...)
