Additionally, the rules changes and reminders have been finalized and are available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing A PDF of those changes will be distributed to teams by e-mail. Re: 2016 TRR/Texas UIL State Championship Team List and Rules Update
Can someone explain the purpose of punishing the #1 alliance with the last 4th pick on top of the last 3rd pick?

Re: 2016 TRR/Texas UIL State Championship Team List and Rules Update
Normally, I would agree that it would suck with that picking order but this is a pretty deep field of teams here. I think all it does is make eliminations more entertaining and challenging for the higher seeds.

Re: 2016 TRR/Texas UIL State Championship Team List and Rules Update
The alliance selection order for TRR has always been 1-8, 8-1, 8-1 since 2012 when we started doing 4-team elimination alliances. Due to some no shows last year, we needed to fall back to 3-team elimination alliances on the day of the event. But, so long as we have had enough registration to support 4 team elimination alliances, we've had that selection order.

Re: 2016 TRR/Texas UIL State Championship Team List and Rules Update
Hey everyone!!
The Awtybots just wanted to say thanks to all the teams that were in attendance at Roundup. This was our second year there and we had an awesome time. The volunteer staff was excellent as well and we have no issues with anything (except our own robot ) throughout the entire event. We also wanted to give a special thanks to our alliance partners, 4587, 1296 and 418 for not only inviting us to be apart of your alliance but also lending us your catapult after ours snapped on the practice field right after you guys picked us. We plan to keep it when we go to Chezy Champs in September. It was great working with you guys throughout the playoffs. Congrats to 118, 148, 5242, and 5726 on being crowned TRR 2016 Champions. Those were some of the closest, most stressful and entertaining matches we've played all year. It's always great playing with you guys whether it be in season or off-season. We look forward to see you all again next year for 2017!! |

Re: 2016 TRR/Texas UIL State Championship Team List and Rules Update
Also, great job by the volunteers to get everything back on schedule.
Pearadox brought a big white board for the side of the pit (which we also did at Lone Star). Overall I think it provides a good bit of fun, hex code messages at lone star, hellos from many teams, and a running tally of pokemon teams at TRR. It was a little disappointing to come in to a bunch of political messages on the board Saturday morning, but I suppose that shouldnt be too surprising in an election year and I'm thankful we didn't have that as a theme throughout the day. I was generally surprised by the quality of many 1st and 2nd year teams. Sometimes when I'm thinking about areas for improvement or feeling frustrated about some mistakes I or the team have made, I'll try to qualify it with "well, we're only a 2nd year team", but this weekend reminded me that there will be even more teams that we'll be looking up to soon with that kind of attitude. Looking forward to the last time our robot will same game time at Remix! |
