The Red Stick Rumble and Louisiana Cleanup

Hello everyone!

First, I wanted to say that regardless of the cleanup that is going on all around us, we are going to host the Red Stick Rumble in Baton Rouge next weekend. It has been a harrowing week to be sure. Some of our faculty, students, mentors, and partners lost everything in the flood. Their houses were filled with water from anywhere from mere inches to eight feet. We've spent most of the week tearing out sheet-rock, ripping up carpet, and throwing away countless valuables that were ruined in the flood waters.

We will be hosting a drive for all who are attending the Rumble and we would love to ask that even if you are not attending, that you consider sending something to add to the drive. We are asking teams to bring a book-sack filled with school supplies and toiletries as well as a stuffed animal or two for children who may have lost everything. If you'd like to ship something, it can be mailed to Daniel Eiland at Woodlawn High School 15755 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La 70817.

I have another request - the students that are part of the FIRST program who saw their belongings ruined by flood water are now stuck without memorabilia, t-shirts, posters - you name it. I would love to be able to give each of them a care package of FIRST centered items. So - if you have a shirt you can send, or a poster you can spare, please sent it along.

Finally - let me give you our team list for the Rumble.

1927 Tempest
2080 Torbotics
