Thumbs up Student Training Presentations

All,

I am looking to compile an extensive list of robotics training presentations to use as a resource for our new students (Powerpoint or video). I know people post here and there (team websites and CD), but I am looking to put all of the best together in one folder and create a master index to them for quick reference. The areas I am interested in are as followed:

- Pneumatics Design
- Gearbox Design
- Systems Engineering (requirements and verification)
- Design Process
- Shop Safety
- How to use metal working tools (Bridgeport mill, lathe, band saw, drill press. etc.)
- Electrical Design
- Drivetrain Design (specific - 4wd, 6wd, 8wd, mech., Omni comparison etc.)
- Manipulator Design (specific)
- Intake Design (specific)
- Using COTS components
- CAD tutorial (Solidworks)

Please post here if you have or know of some great tutorials that our team can leverage in the fall. Also let me know if this is something that you would be interested to see when complete.

Thanks!

Re: Student Training Presentations

I'd be interested in seeing it when complete. I'll see if I can get you our current presentations and also some other stuff we're working on.

Re: Student Training Presentations

As a start, check out the list of courses for MOEU. The presentations are a little dated, but the fundamentals are the same.

Re: Student Training Presentations

You can check out the presentations given last year at the MN SPLASH event, it probably covers a lot of those topics:

Re: Student Training Presentations

Check out NE FIRST University Day in a few weeks. There will be some good technical presentations there - I think Foss is giving 2 or 3, and I'm doing one on prototyping strategies (less so techniques) that might be useful.

I'll be compiling a bunch of short presentations I'll be giving my own team this season, though they don't have the same scope as you guys as we are a few seasons away from having the kids do all the heavy detailed design / CAD work. My focus for this season is to engage the students in brainstorming, prototyping, strategy, and fabrication first, so they might not be as useful for you, but I'll share them once I'm done if you want. PM me your gmail if you're interested.
