I have a feeling this has to do something with the 1960s.
In the FRC blog post earlier hinting to that scifi theme they mentioned Cybermen and A space odyssey which were both from the 1960s. They also mentioned at the end of the post about Fried Pickles which according to its wikipedia page became popular in the 1960s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_pickle And on top of that Dolly Parton and Richard Feynman were also popular in the 1960s The date has reoccurred too many times to be a coincidence.
