1836's Velocity Vortex & Animal Allies Resources

Team 1836: The MilkenKnights is excited to announce our FTC and FLL Resources for the 2016-2017 season!

FTC Velocity Vortex
  • Game Scoring Calculator - I recommend you use the Google Docs option
  • We hopefully have more coming soon and I will update this thread when new stuff becomes available

FLL Animal Allies
This is sort of old news...we released these resources after the challenge release on 8/30 but I'm just now getting around to posting them here.
We would really appreciate any and all feedback that you have! You can let me know on this thread or contact us using the information on our website. Hope you enjoy!

Re: 1836's Velocity Vortex & Animal Allies Resources

As an FLL mentor this season, I'm sure this will be very helpful, especially considering how confusing the rules can be to a new team.

This is an awesome resource. It'll come in very handy.

Re: 1836's Velocity Vortex & Animal Allies Resources

Jared
Thanks for doing all of this work
Unfortunately I downloaded what you had in your FTC Excel spreadsheet and it does not seem to work. I tried both the online version and the downloaded version.

Am I missing the instructions somewhere?

for example
I put in the number of particles scored in the central vortex as 12 and the total score I get at the end is 12 (I think this should be 60)

Am I doing something wrong?

I notice that the scores don't seem to be adding up

just wondering. thanks for helping everyone!!

Hi Bob!

I'm trying to reproduce but cannot. Can you please send a screenshot of your input?

Re: 1836's Velocity Vortex & Animal Allies Resources

The black spot where you typed is where the score output goes. The user input needs to happen in the dark and light blue cells. For reference, the key/instructions can be found in columns L and M rows 13-19.

Please let me know if this solves your issue!

Re: 1836's Velocity Vortex & Animal Allies Resources

We moved to a new, better (non-WordPress) site a few weeks ago but I forgot to post the new links. Short version is that everything can be accessed through fll16.jaredhk.com. Here are the updated direct links:

Hope you enjoy!
