Solenoid delay

Hi all - we are currently experiencing an issue where there is significant delay in solenoid activation. We think that the delay is eliminated by a completely fresh battery, however even a slightly discharged battery which works for the rest of the robot seems to cause delays. Another possible explanation is a lack of pressure, although we usually have a good 40psi in the system and still have delays. Has anyone experienced solenoid delay along these lines before?

We are using the solenoids found here - http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/pn...manifolds.html

Re: Solenoid delay

Are you noticing a delay from when you fire it, and seeing the light on the solenoid change, or when the piston is extended?

What kind of piston are you using, could you provide a picture so we can have a clearer picture of what's going on? I doubt that it has anything to do with the battery myself.
