Hey CD: Just wondering:

We are wondering how "Second Event" registration works.

If we register for a Week 1 Competition on Thursday (MN Duluth), will we get "kicked out" of Week 6 events? (MN Minneapolis)?

We want to ensure that we want to go to Minneapolis.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that you are able to sign up for your first event at any time, even today. Currently all of the MN regionals are on waitlist status, but there are 30 spots each that were held back for various reasons mentioned in other threads. Sign up for the waitlist for Northern Lights or Lake Superior, then on Thursday, October 20th, sign up for 10K Lakes or North Star. Or vice versa.

Just want to clarify that the 13th is when district second event registration opens. Second event registration for regionals opens on October 20th.

Nope, you're free to register for events on different weeks. You just won't be able to register for events falling on the same dates.

When Second Event registration opens, you are not removed from your first event when you sign up for your second event. It's there in the name - "second event", as in, this is the second event you are signing up for. It doesn't have to be chronologically after the first event on the calendar, or in a different state, or anything like that.

FYI - It is also worth noting that teams generally attend 1, 2, or 3 regional events is a given year. While you cannot directly modify your robot between events, there are still things you can do to improve upon your performance between events -- so, back to back events are very tricky.

Years past (no guarantee it is the same now), We wait listed for 2 two events on the same weekend. The hope was that we would get one of them.
