This is correct. We got a lot of comments at our local week 0 event asking if we somehow used boulders as wheels.

I expected to see some teams use them this season, but I did not get to see anyone in person with them.

Can you tell us what specifications you ran these wheels at? Tube pressure? I imagine they are quite heavy, did you make a custom hub or any modifications to the wheel? How did they interact with the defenses? Do you have any close up slow motion footage of how the wheels got your robot over everything? The wheels also seem like they provide quite a bit of contact surface area, did you experience any severe amounts of drag when trying to drive on carpet?

Thanks.

I don't know the exact pressure, but I can say that we overinflated them (and voided the warranty).

We used the standard hubs that come with the drive base kit and large bolts (9/16" hex head) as axles. I don't know much more about that, I was busy with 5 other projects that day.

We literally bounce over the defenses. Here is a slow-motion video from 10000 Lakes (is is from the stream, so quality isn't very good and it's from a distance, but you can tell which robot is ours and what happens).

We didn't run into any traction issues. That may be due to the fact we overinflated them, but I'm not sure.
