Looking for a new team
I am a mechanical engineering student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and I need more robots in my life.
I participated in FRC for 4 years on my high school team, and now that I\am in a new place I need a new team. I am looking to join a team somewhere in Salt Lake City, as either a coach or adviser or just enthusiastic robo-nerd, but I don't know where to start. I was wondering if any of the coaches or mentors on here could give me any advice on how to join a new team, or put me in contact with some of the teams local to me. This is new territory for me, and I am a bit uncertain how to move forward, but I really want to get back into FRC. Thanks Chief community -Matt |

Re: Looking for a new team
Matt, I recommend reading this thread https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=47004 before joining a team while attending college.
If after that you are certain you want to get involved with a team, I'd try finding the Utah Regional Director contact info and inquiring about teams in the area. It appears Salt Lake City has 5 teams: https://my.usfirst.org/myarea/index....017&event=utwv |

Re: Looking for a new team
Listen to the people in the link provided about college and FIRST. If I had gone to a college that was closer to events i would have volunteered over mentoring for sure. Takes a lot to balance both.

Re: Looking for a new team
Thanks for the info, I emailed the regional director this morning. I will definitely be volunteering at an event, and I will put some more thought into if I have the time to mentor.
